猫传染性腹膜炎（FIP）是一种性，慢性进行性和多数致命的病毒感染。
根据目前的知识，FIP本身不是感染，因此它不会从猫传播到猫。它已成为经口鼻非致病性猫冠状病毒（FCOV）感染，其中与应力有关的非致病性FCOV在致病病毒FIP突变的所有国内和野生猫科动物偶尔出现。FCoV抗体的流行程度主要取决于住房的类型：在多胎养殖的育种中，高的是50％至80％，在个体养殖的私人家庭中，低的约为15％。
FIP的临床表现根据病程或器官表现而有很大差异。形式之间的过渡是流动的，因此FIP可以更“渗出”或“更肉芽”。因此，如果诊断FIP不明原因的症状，如抗生素抗性，反复发热，不清楚器官改变，慢性体重减轻，在所有的猫的腹部和/或胸腔青紫加以考虑。
