Meloxicam is an effective anti-inflammatory drug used in a variety of species including rodents. Meloxicam MD’s are highly palatable and encourage appetite post-operatively promoting a more rapid recovery versus other conventional methods. They are an ideal pain-free alternative to stressful and injurious post-operative injections. Meloxicam MD’s can be customized to include antibiotics such as Baytril to provide both medications easily and affordably.

  • Highly palatable, nutritionally complete, grain-based, bacon flavored tablets
  • Tablets are formulated to meet the daily medication needs of rats and are a supplement to standard feed
  • Each 5 gram bacon-flavored tablet contain: 0.5 mg Meloxicam
  • Rat Average Daily Dose: One 5 gram Tablet/Rat per day provides daily medication needs and is a dietary supplement to standard feed
  • Introduction of Bio-Serv’s Placebo or MD tablet 1-2 days prior to surgery will decrease novelty and increase acceptance

Feeding Guidelines
For best acceptance, introduce Bio-Serv’s placebo or MD Tablets 1-2 days prior to surgery. Feed one MD tablet per rat per day to provide the daily medication dose and nutritional supplement. Place tablets at cage floor level for ease of access by the animal. Standard feed should remain in feed hopper.
